HGTV Announces “Rico to the Rescue” Premiere

HGTV is set to debut its new reality series, Rico to the Rescue, on January 7, 2023, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. According to a press release from Warner Bros. Discovery, the show aims to spotlight the expertise of Rico León as he assists homeowners dealing with renovation challenges.

The series, produced by Watt Pictures, highlights Rico’s efforts in Denver, Colorado, where he steps in to mediate between homeowners and contractors. By resolving conflicts and addressing mismanaged projects, Rico transforms stressful renovations into dream homes.

As HGTV’s Senior Vice President Loren Ruch explained, no one wants to be stuck with a home that doesn’t meet their needs due to poorly executed renovations. The show promises to deliver a trustworthy advocate for homeowners in need of a “renovation rescue.”

What to Expect in the First Episode

The first episode features a Denver couple struggling with an unfinished home renovation that has strained their relationship with their contractor. Rico steps in with his team, including designer Poonam Moore and estimator Matt Plowman, to address scheduling issues and deliver a stunning basement renovation. The episode also includes an unexpected kitchen upgrade, showcasing the team’s dedication to exceeding expectations.
